Zuri’s First Agility Trial
Mark Herreid
ZURI
The day started like any other day of agility. During Zuri’s second run I knew that something was not right, and I pulled him off the course. The emergency vet confirmed what we had feared and the next day he was in surgery to have his spleen removed. Zuri went through chemo like a champ. His oncology vet also ran agility so she knew what we would be asking of him. With her concurrence we set, and reached, goals of going to the 2024 CPE Nationals, and earning his CATCH5 title. We also reached the goal of his 10th birthday. Zuri had great quality of life for 6 and half months and we made the best of each and every day.
