Odin is Bonkers

Photographer:
Janay Wilk

Odin a 10 (will be 11 on 10-2) husky from a So Cal shelter adopted at the age of 4 had a transient skin rash on his nose and pads. We treated it as an allergy with some success but it never fully went away. All labs were stable except a slight raise indicative of an allergy. One year later he stopped eating. Acute kidney injury from elevated protein: Either a tick disease, lymphoma, or multiple myeloma. He was positive for multiple myeloma. Doxycycline and steroids showed changes in about 2 days along with fluids 2x per week. We got into his oncologist Dr Tansey from ACCESS Pasadena and started on melphelan. Also immune herbs with Dr Johnstone. Immediately he felt better and is completely BONKERS even now on maintenance treatments. Labs are normal and kidney panel is almost normal. Odin is doing very well and his skin rash is gone too.
