Celebrating Freedom from Radiation
Jessica Szladewski
At 13 years old, Gypsy was diagnosed with a subcutaneous mast cell tumor on March 29, 2025. After surgery on April 10th, we were relieved to hear her margins were clean. But just weeks later, the tumor came back aggressively. With her spirit as strong as ever, we rushed to the ER, where our oncology team sent us home with medication in hopes of shrinking the tumor enough for radiation. A few days later, the tumor had shrunk, and we started radiation treatments. After completing four rounds, we celebrated her victory at her favorite place—the beach. Gypsy is now on Palladia for maintenance and doing incredibly well. Her resilience through this journey has been nothing short of inspiring, and we couldn’t be more proud of her strength and determination.”
